Durga Puran asserts the divine feminine goddess Durga to be the supreme power. She is a figure of devotional appeal amongst Hindus and is believed to be the primordial creator of the universe. Hindus worship goddess Durga as Devi who is believed to be the origin of all existence because initially, the supreme power was ‘Nirguna’ (without form) which later manifested herself as three Shaktis (Sattvik, Rajasi, and Tamasi).
